        Thandai delicious recipe in holi 2023



 Ingredients:

1/2 cup almonds, blanched and peeled

1/4 cup cashews

1/4 cup pistachios

1/4 cup poppy seeds

1/4 cup melon seeds

1/4 cup fennel seeds

1/4 cup rose petals (dried or fresh)

1 tsp black peppercorns

1 tsp cardamom powder

1 liter whole milk

Sugar or sweetener of your choice, to taste

Ice cubes, for serving

Instructions:


In a blender, grind together almonds, cashews, pistachios, poppy seeds, melon seeds, fennel seeds, rose petals, black peppercorns and cardamom powder to a fine powder.


In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium-high heat.


Add the ground powder to the milk and stir well. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture comes to a boil.


Reduce heat and let the mixture simmer for another 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it thickens slightly.


Remove from heat and let the mixture cool to room temperature.


Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any solids.


Add sugar or sweetener to taste and stir well.


Chill the thandai mixture in the refrigerator for at least an hour.


To serve, pour the chilled thandai mixture into glasses over ice cubes. Garnish with rose petals, if desired, and serve immediately.
